This image shows the particle flow from the hollow cathode thruster. It is easier to tell the difference between the particles without the geometry in the way. The red particles are the electrons and the light purple ones are the xenon molecules. Without the addition of the electric field to this simulation the electrons back up into the tube and simply bounce around.
