Strain Time Response

[ Strain Synthesis ] [ Interpolated Time Data ]

The results of the modal analysis is a vector of strain values (Incrimental Hoop Strains) for 50 time steps of 0.00025 seconds. Upon examining the values at the first few time steps, it was suspected that the sampling time as large compared to the period of oscillatory motion.

The values of each node progresses as follows:

From this data, it was assumed that the motion was sinusoidal and that the values for each time step fell on the Pi/2 incriments in this oscillatory motion. To obtain strains at smaller time steps, values were interpolated between each of the original Incrimental Hoop Strains as shown below:

This resulted in a new set of strain values at time incriments of 0.0000625 seconds.

Only the first 36 of the new time steps (equivalent to 0.00225 seconds) were used because the significant action takes place in this time interval.
