CFX (v10.0 x86) is Ansys Inc.'s CFD package. It comes with three sub-programs: Pre, Solver, and Post. Each preform necessary functions to solve and understand computation fluid models.
CFX-Pre
CFX-Pre setups the model to allow the Solver to run. It inputs a geometry/mesh file (from Ansys Workbench ) and allows the user to assign boundary and flow conditions, solver methods, material properties, mesh refinement and solution parameters, and turbulence and heat x-fer models.
CFX-Solver
CFX-Solver solves the problem as specified by CFX-Pre's problem definition file. You can choose to use an intial conditions file, the hardware that solves the problem (single computer, dual core, network cluster, etc) and the numerical precision (remember this is a 32bit program).
CFX-Post
CFX-Post alows the user to visuallize, extract flow data (velocity, pressure, etc) in cvs files, and create charts and movies of the problem solved by CFX-Solver.
