Making Mode Shape Movies

To animate the motion of the natural modes, it was assumed that the deflection at each node would follow a Sine wave in its motion.

To show this sinusoidal motion, 33 models were made in which the Nodal Mode Shape Displacement values were multiplied by incremental values of a discretized Sine wave. This resulted in each Node's displacement changing in an oscillatory manner from one model to the next.

Each of the Incremental Modally Deformed Node Locations, was used in the ANSYS Structural Batch File to create a deformed model.

A picture of each of the Incremental Modally Deformed Models was used as a frame to animate the motion
