1993- Present: Nonlinear dynamics of bridge oscillation caused by strong earthquakes.
1990- Present: Principal research area is diagnosis of bridge integrity by using nondestructive evaluation (NDE).

- Development of a evaluation system of bridge integrity by the quantification theory.
- Development of experimental techniques to detect defect of structure.
1985-1989: Principal study was to develop experimental techniques to detect inclusions in a material using ultrasonic testing and to develop a simulation method of stress wave propagation in fiber-reinforced composite materials.
1980-1985: Principal study was to apply stress wave velocity analysis to the structural integrity evaluation of the old and damaged structures as a problem of the wave propagation in elastic solids.
1978-1980: Principal study was to develop a evaluation method for the dynamic response of the structure under a moving forces and its radiation phenomenon of low frequency sound from structures.
